Event/Activity EPM11 - Kings Mill and Redoubt

Trial excavation carried out by Portsmouth Museum Service in 1995 prior to development. The excavation revealed substantial limestone-built foundations, part of the south wall of the redoubt, and what may have been part of an expense magazine. There was also evidence of probable post-Second World War levelling in the north of the site and Second World War bomb damage.
